Around the Arran Trail

Walking Distance 3.6KM or 2.3 miles. The time required for a reasonably fit walker is 1.5 hours.

The route starts on School Lane Guide.

The route commences at the entrance to the Arran Trail by the motorway bridge on School Lane Guide. Follow the trail in a northerly direction dropping down hill towards the ponds.

The route continues in a northerly direction passing the end of an industrial unit. Keep to the left hand track.

After crossing a bridge take the footpath off to the left. The route now continues running behind the industrial units. Cross the stream again and continue along the track with the school playing fields on the right hand side.

This track now continues passing Blakewater College on the right. On emerging onto Shadsworth Road, turn left and left into Sett End Road West

Cross the road and continue along the road around to the right, along Lions Drive. The route now passes in front of the FS Simms plant complex.

At the end of the distribution centre railings on the left-hand side of this road a footpath climbs the banking. Cross Lions Drive to gain access to this track.

The track bears left and then follows the fence line of the houses to join onto School Lane. Turn left along School Lane to reach the start point.
