Around Shadsworth from Queens Park

Walking Distance 4.4 Km or 4.0 miles.  The time required for a reasonably fit walker is 2 hours.

The route starts within Queens Park.

Leave the Park by the northern exit onto Queen's Road, turn right and then cross the road into Sherwood Road.

At the end turn right into Pringle Street and at its junction with North Road turn right again. Continue up hill until reaching Romney Walk on the left hand.

Go into Romney walk and at the top take the right hand path by the phone mast.  This leads to a track crossing the playing fields and onto Shadsworth Close. Turn right to meet Shadsworth Road and then turn left.

Shadsworth Road is crossed at the traffic lights and down to the Fecitt Brow junction by the Forester Arms. Turn right towards the entrance to the Arran Trail on the right.

Here turn into the Arran Trail and keep on the right hand paths. The industrial units should be on the left hand side. Continue along the track to emerge onto Shadsworth Road by the Blakewater College. Turn right and then cross over Shadsworth Road at the zebra crossing.

The track now follows the footway down Old Bank Lane passing Newfield School on the right. Take the footpath after the school, down a well surfaced track.  This path joins onto Queens Road and is signed here the Environment Link. Turn right alone Queen’s Road to take entrance on left into Queen’s Park.
