Welcome to the web site of Blackburn and Darwen Group of the Ramblers Association.

The Blackburn and Darwen Group is a  local group of the Ramblers Association helping to keep footpaths open within this area.  Whilst we do not organise a separate walks programme, as a rule.   The Group is committed to the footpath and countryside issues within the boundaries of Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council.

Throughout the country the Ramblers has over 500 Groups across Great Britain, organised into around 50 Areas, including around 50 Groups for 20s-30s and family walking groups.

The Ramblers is the charity at the heart of walking in Britain. If you walk, we are for you. We work to make it easy for everyone to walk, whether in the countryside, cities, hills, the coast, and on and off the beaten track. We are about all sorts of people doing all sorts of walking in all sorts of places.
increasing access for walkers - our work is helping to establish statutory rights of access to the outdoors.
safeguarding Britain's unique network of public paths - all too often, they are illegally blocked, obstructed and overgrown. We work with local authorities to make them a pleasure to walk on.
